After The Affair

Eleanor Pangbourne, a Harvard Professor of Anthropology discovers her husband of twenty-five years having a homosexual affair. Should she work through the wreckage of her marriage, or burn her bridges and leave?

Their only child Sybille is nineteen and has left home. Eleanor rents a friend’s cottage in a medieval Sussex village in England. She commits to doing One Scary Thing Every Day in order to come to her answer. And finds herself unwillingly embroiled in her neighbor’s lives; the ebullient, aging Royal Shakespeare Company actress Margot Jacobs, and her cousin Vivienne Davis, who lost her only child at seven.

Together the three women ponder the meaning of friendship, intimacy and happily-ever-after, as Eleanor wrangles with, and finally makes her decision.
